Stop re-typing bills of lading, PODs and carrier invoices

The capture half of this is already built, and it is the half that is usually hardest. A driver opens their own pending-delivery list on the device, signs — drawn on the pad or typed — and MoveTheWheels stores the recipient name, the signature, the geo-coordinates with their accuracy, the delivery timestamp and any photos taken at the door, with the photos held as references to the platform file service rather than as blobs in the logistics database. The delivery job and its shipment move to delivered in the same governed step, and only the driver actually assigned to that job can do it.

What happens to that evidence afterwards is where the typing starts. Somebody opens the proof of delivery, opens the carrier invoice next to it, compares both against what the shipment record says was moved, and keys the difference into a spreadsheet. Multiply that by a week of loads and settlement becomes the slowest part of a fast operation.

The designed capability closes that loop: extraction over the freight document set — bills of lading, proofs of delivery, carrier invoices — normalising each into structured fields, matching it to the shipment and delivery job it refers to, then reconciling the billed amount against the agreed rate and the delivery that was actually captured. The output is an exception worth a human minute, not a stack worth an afternoon.

There is real ground for that to stand on. Cargo items already carry SKU, dimensions, weight, declared value and handling flags for hazardous, fragile and temperature-controlled goods; routes carry estimated against actual distance and a fuel cost; finance metrics already roll revenue and fuel spend across the workspace. So an extracted invoice line has something concrete to be checked against. What does not exist yet is the extraction and reconciliation itself — the logistics service contains no document model today, and this page will not pretend otherwise.
