Wholesale Route Wave Pick and Truck Load Board

Overview
In wholesale and distribution, the day runs on a nightly cycle: dealers order until an afternoon cut-off, the warehouse picks overnight and trucks leave at dawn. This MoveTheWheels concept illustrates a Night pick board that runs that night by delivery route rather than by order, so the team can see which trucks will be ready on time and which are still waiting on picks.
When picking is organized order by order, a truck can be half loaded when it is due to leave, and a short pick is often found only when the dealer opens the delivery. By then there is no time to offer a substitute, check the bin or tell the dealer, and the stock record keeps showing goods that are not on the shelf.
The illustration shows the board under Routes for one distribution center and night, with the cut-off time and the first truck's departure. Tiles count orders released, lines picked out of the total, short picks and trucks loaded out of the total. A Routes by departure table lists each route with its truck, stops, orders, pick wave, percentage picked, shorts, load status and departure time, from routes already loaded to one loading, one staged and a will-call counter with a morning pickup time. A footer notes that the orders came from Kadaikodi and were released after credit review by FluidGrids. A short picks panel for the selected route lists three items from a plumbing and electrical range: tubing found short with a same-price substitute accepted by the dealer via Botlit, a receptacle placed on backorder with the dealer notified, and a valve whose bin was empty while the record showed stock, with a cycle count raised. The panel ends with the load order, last stop first and first stop last, and a Release to dock button.
The board is designed to work with three other Burdenoff products. Orders are designed to arrive from Kadaikodi and be released by FluidGrids after credit review, grouped into pick waves per route. When a picker finds less than the stock record expects, the short is designed to be raised with a same-price substitute, or a backorder where there is none, and an empty bin gets a cycle count; the dealer can be asked through Botlit before the truck is sealed. Trucks are designed to be loaded in reverse stop order from the route's planned sequence. Within MoveTheWheels, the board is designed to draw on the stock record and route planning.

How it works
- Dealers order until the afternoon cut-off, and FluidGrids releases the Kadaikodi orders after credit review.
- Released orders are grouped into pick waves by delivery route.
- Pickers work through each wave while the board tracks lines picked and shorts against each truck's departure time.
- A short pick is raised with a same-price substitute and the dealer is asked through Botlit, or the line goes on backorder with the dealer notified.
- A bin found empty while the stock record shows stock gets a cycle count.
- Each truck is loaded in reverse stop order and released to the dock before it departs.
